GPSeismic Version 2010.1 Release Notes General 1) When opening a coordinate file with one of the standard extentions (.sp1, .seg, .up1, .sps, .cmb), the ASCII Import dialog will automatically select the appropriate format for import. The same holds for saving a coordinate file via the ASCII Export dialog. Requested by Eric Collins of Cenovus Energy. QuikLoad 1)In QuikLoad, before you launch the database dialog, if you set the descriptor in the status bar pane (regardless of what the Descriptor mode is), when you go to populate the preplot table you will be prompted to use the status bar entry for all database descriptors. Requested by Brian Marsh. 2) Added a new preplot generation tool which will create a Serpentine (sinusoidal) Grid. Requested by Glyn Barnes of WesternGeco. 3) Logic to preview generated data in QuikMap has been streamlined. Requested by Larry Fine of 3S. QuikView 1) If you use Leica and utilize Leica attribute values, you should note that there is a new Miscellaneous item to control what is preserved. If the new item (called Save Leica Attribute Values Only) is off, an attribute such as ShotType=NH is completely preserved. If the option is on, the attribute would simply be NH. Requested by Jan Quaak of CGGVeritas. 2) A button was added to the Changes dialog to create an elevation profile. The point which is currently shown in the Changes dialog is highlighted in the profile. When you click on a point in the profile, this updates the Changes dialog which updates the highlighted point on the map display. You can also use the arrow keys in the profile to sequence through the points. Requested by Edgar Garcia of Geokinetics. QuikMap 1) When zoomed in, right-clicking on a Jpeg2000 or Mr.Sid image on the layers dialog will give you the option to save the current zoom area to a PNG file at full resolution. 2) When choosing Google Maps or Google Elevations (and some other tools) when the overview window is shown, you are now correctly prompted to use the current zoom area or full extents. Previously with the overview window shown, this prompt was omitted. 3)There is now a Google map placed on the a Google Elevations dialog in accordance with the recently modified Elevations API terms of usage. Also fixed a problem with selection of the minimum seconds between requests. Project Manager 1) In Project Manager, you can now modify the current project masks that are used in QuikView. Click on the current project in the project list to display this new popup menu item. Requested by Brian Marsh. QuikEdit 1) A secondary sort was added to QuikEdit. For example if you have a track and bin in the file you could sort on track then bin to obtain a completely sorted file. Requested by Larry Poquette of Wildwood Positioning. 2) A new option has been added to the Column Editor which allows replacing a user defined set of columns with the line number. This can be used to create an incrementing value in each record. Requested by Tony Lindholm of Dawson Geophysical.
