Procedure For Kermit Transfers Between QuikComm And TDS Firmware On An HP48GX

Start the QuikComm application and select Properties... from the Connection menu. On the dialog this action displays, select your comm port and then press the Configure button. On the dialog this action displays, configure the settings as you see here. On the graphic below, I chose comm 4 but yours will probably be different.

Next, make sure Kermit is the selected protocol by checking that item as shown here.

Now, choose Connect from the Connection menu. This action opens the port. Note that you can always see your connection state and port parameters in the title bar of the application.

To receive a file from the HP48, you must first select Receive from the File menu of the QuikComm application. This action displays a dialog that can be used to select the folder the file will be placed in.

After you OK the folder the file is to be saved, in a second dialog will be displayed. This dialog will remain visible until the download is complete. This dialog also has a button (Details) that allows you to monitor the progress of the file transfer.

After the dialog above is displayed, turn your attention to the HP with the TDS firmware. On the TDS menu, find and select File Transfer.

On the next screen make sure you configure the unit as you see here and then press Send.

On the final screen, highlight the RW5 file to send and press Select. When the file has been transferred, the Receive dialog on the PC will disappear.

To send a file from the PC to the HP48, select Send from the File menu of QuikComm. This will display a dialog from which you select a file to be transferred. The TDS firmware on the HP should be configured as was shown above, however, you would press Receive on the second screen and then press the Send button in QuikComm.
