GPSeismic Version 2017.2 Release Notes
1) Fixed a potential issue in the Garmin IMG utility. This would  present
iteself if you incorrectly selected Lat/Long for the local  grid  system
and then tried to create any IMG file using the correct coordinate  sys-
tem. The utility would report that it can't access a temporary file.

1) Added a new File menu item called 'Reduce Vertices'.This utility will
prompt for an input user tolerance and will depopulate a coordinate file
depicting a line using the Douglas-Peucker algorithm.Note that you  will
be prompted for whether to  add the reconstructed line to the  secondary
layer or  turn the  points  that make up  the  reconstructed line in the 
intial layer to hit.  If a secondary  layer already exists the points of
reconstructed line in the initial line are turned to hit without prompt.
Note that you can picure the alogorithm as connecting every other  point
with a  line.   The  distance from the  skipped  point to this  line  is
the distance that is compared to the user's tolerance.If the distance is
greater than the tolerance, it does not become part of the reconstructed
2) You can now open SNS Locator map files (.GSM) when you  select  'Load
Collection' from the Image menu.
3) Added Carlson CRD support to the SPecific ASCII export list.
4) Modified  Site Assist utility  to support  creation of  configuration

utility will remove extended characters before processing.
SNS Locator
1) Added ability to launch any number of focus maps. Focus maps are used
to keep specific areas in view independent of the main map. For example,
you could use the main map to keep an eye on the entire prospect but use
a focus map to keep an  close  eye on specific  vehicles in  a zoomed in
area. There is provision for selecting a specified group of vehicles  on
the focus map and to automatically shift the focus map view to keep  the
group in view.
2) Added docking panels to major controls. This allows user to detach or
unpin vehicle spreadsheet , map layer grid , COG  controls or SNS tools.
Added ability to send UI Lock/Unlock commands to vehicles. This includes
monitoring for confirmation. Added third tab page behind map and  graphs
that provides event monitoring of communications data, log appends , and
status of SNS messaging (file transfer, log retrieval and  password con-
3)Prompt for defining coordinate system now appears on  startup if there
is no system defined or Lat/Long or ECEF selected. Also warn the user if
Map Properties dialog has been OK'd and coordinate system not defined or
inappropriate. Changed option for auto-naming SNS  vehicles  to  include
auto-assigning to first  unused slot.  User  can now  select  coordinate
system from an exchange database.
4) When you start tracking, SNS Locator will try to activate logging. If
there is no log file, you will have options to create and select one, to
select an existing one, or not to log.
5) SNS Locator now constantly pings each vehicle so that  a vehicle  can
determine the IP address of the base and that it is in contact with  it.
6) When you select a map  layer for querying  information, a new  dialog
is shown  that has a point offset  calculator.  If  the layer is a point
layer, then a dropdown appears with the coordinates  for all the  points
queried.Selecting one automatically enters the coordinates in the origin
coordinate text boxes. The new offset xy along with a station  name  and
descriptor can be copied to the target text boxes. There is provison for
opening a grid definition file for the purpose of obtaining an  azimuth.
All values including azimuth are remembered between uses. There is  also
provision for appending the new offset point to the point shape file.
7) SNS Locator will auto-select the TMR1 radio IP Address based on pings
to vehicles form specified interfaces.
8) SNS Locator can now request system logs from selected vehicles.
9) Added ability to name map layers.
1) Add SNS menu item to create a sqlite database with an empty LOG table.
